Youth Ministry at Wallsend Church

Wallsend Church has a special focus on our youth (teens in Grades 7-12). We aim to provide a safe experience that is age-appropriate for our teens to learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way. We run a wide variety of ministries that allow for friendships, connections and lasting memories for our young people.

Barbara Rosendahl (Youth Leader)

Barbara is our Youth leader here at Wallsend. She currently has 3 of her teens in our youth group. She has been an amazing mentor to not only our teens but also to our youth leaders as well. She is very passionate when it come to making our youth feel warm and comfortable. If you have any questions about our youth ministry she is the one to see. We have been very blessed to have her leading our youth team.

Lucas Gibson

Lucas is one of our youth leaders who has been coming to Wallsend Church his whole life. He is very passionate about our young people and is very involved all aspects youth ministry. He is currently studying at Newcastle University. Our youth have been incredibly blessed with Lucas as their mentor and friend.

Katie Ross

Katie is one of our new youth leaders who has recently finished year 12. She is very gifted when it comes to worship music (singing) and is very active in her faith when it comes to mentoring teens. She is currently studying at Avondale University. We are very excited to have her on the team and see how God will continue to use her.

Stacie Whittaker

Stacie has been involved with Wallsend Church for a number of years. She has an amazing gift for mentoring our girls and also her leadership in worship music as well. She is currently studying at Avondale University. Our youth group has been incredibly blessed by her ministry.

Shari Coburn

Shari is one of our youth leaders who is a parent to 3 of our teens. Shari has been overseeing all our youth socials and also helped in many other areas of our youth as well by opening up her home for many events too. Our teens are super blessed to have her as a mentor of our youth.

Pr Adam Schulz

Pr Adam is the Youth Pastor and Associate of Wallsend Church. He has a strong passion for young people and provides a space that is safe for them to ask questions about the bible and to lead them to Jesus. He oversees the Youth and Young Adults of Wallsend Church.

Activities for Youth

Youth Worship

When: 9:30 am Saturday Mornings
Where: Wallsend Church
Ages: Grades 7-12

Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet to worship, learn and hang out. Our bands lead us in praise and worship, and then we break up into three groups and have a Bible Study that focuses on how Jesus works in our lives today.

The three groups are:

Year 7-9 Girls
Year 7-9 Boys
Year 10-12 Combined

Socials

When: Monthly on Saturday Nights
Where: Various People’s Homes, Church, and Activity Venues
Ages: Grades 7-12

This is a great space to connect with our youth group. We have our socials consist of sports nights at MC Sports Centre, laser tag, bowling, mini-games, Christmas parties, beach hangouts, house parties at people’s houses etc. Stay tuned to our socials to find out when and what is taking place!

Anchor

When: 7 pm-8:30 pm monthly on Friday nights (during school term)
Where: Wallsend Church
Ages: Grades 7-12

Anchor is our Friday night program that’s completely run by and for high school students. We’ve got high school bands, hosts and speakers all coming together to have an awesome and fun night, while coming closer to Jesus!

Embers

When: 7 pm-8:30 pm monthly on Friday nights (during school term)
Where: Wallsend Church and Homes
Ages: Grades 10-12

Our monthly Friday night program specifically caters to the school grades 10-12 age group. A place for relaxation and meaningful connections, Embers offers a blend of food, devotional, and enriching conversations. In winter we gather around the warm comforting fire. In summer we will meet inside the church or people’s homes.

Teen Rallies

When: Once a term

Where: Wallsend Church, Gateway Church (Cooranbong), Haven Church (Central Coast)

Ages: Grades 7-12

Teen Rallies are a space where our teens connect with the other regions in our conference. Each term a campus church will host our Teen Rally and empower our teens to be part of the amazing program. The program consists of food, fire and games, which then leads into the program with fun interactive ice-breakers, memorable worship music, and a heartfelt message about Jesus. These connections with our other campuses have been successful in combining our Jesus-loving communities together beyond Big Camp and Summer Camps.

Ignite

When: 3 pm - 4 pm Wednesdays (during school term)

Where: Wallsend Church
